Apton Partitioning, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of partitioning solutions, has been specified by IMS Office Fitting and Design for one of Liverpool’s most iconic and desirable buildings.

IMS selected Apton’s Silverline range, a sleek and demountable partitioning system, for Barnett Waddingham’s new office space, in the famous ‘Three Graces’, historic Port of Liverpool building, next to Albert Dock. The design and build project required to fit out 2,500 sq m of contemporary office space around existing features of the periodic building.

Danny Jackson, Business Development Manager for Apton Partitioning’s Northern regions, explains: “This was an intricate project, as we had to cater window and door fixings, as well as partitioning panels, to the existing space so it would fit perfectly. We liaised closely with IMS throughout to ensure this was carried out with precision and complete attention to detail.

“The Silverline product range gives a nice clean look and slimline finish to the office space, making the most of the internal environment and complimenting IMS’ office furnishings.”

The Grade II listed property was built over a century ago. Situated on the Pier Head on Liverpool’s waterfront, it has over 155,000 square feet of accommodation. Built in the style of Edwardian Baroque using Portland stone, the Port of Liverpool building replicates the design of London’s St Paul’s Cathedral and is regarded as one of the most prestigious addresses in the country.

After recent restoration of the building in October 2005 by Liverpool City Council, tenants can benefit from external on-site parking, a public viewing floor inside the central domed atrium, and a sunken piazza on the riverfront providing a series of restaurants, cafes and shops.

“Apton’s pre-decorated windows and panels made for a speedy installation, ensuring that it kept to the high quality and standard of our own products.”

The Silverline range is available in 14 panel colours and metallic paint finishes, with the option of powder coated aluminium joint trims and skirting or steel Omega joint trim. Doors come in a range of veneers for the finishing touches, catering any office environment down to the smallest detail.
